AGU: Texas Grizzly @HeidiForTexas

Our American Grizzlies United (AGU) Texas State Coordinator Cynthia Dixon has been busy in the Lone Star State putting together a team of Texan Grizzlies to fight Crony Capitalism, take a stand for states rights, and common sense, Constitutional, conservatism.

One of the public servants that Cynthia brought to our attention is Heidi Thiess.

Heidi Thiess is an uncompromising Constitutional Conservative candidate for the Texas House of Representatives, District 24.

From Heidi’s Campaign Site:

Heidi comes from a long family tradition of patriotic values and military service.  She enlisted in the US Army as a 17-year old freshman in college and served simultaneously in the US Reserves and ROTC until her graduation and commissioning.  She graduated with a BA degree in International Affairs, a Specialty in Soviet Politics, and a Minor in Military Science from Marquet University.  As a Second Lieutenant, she earned her jump wings at Airborne School before serving the remainder of her active duty service overseas.

Since her separation from military service, Heidi Thiess has been a small business owner and investor.  She has remained active in veteran’s advocacy and politics, with a focus on sovereignty and national security issues.  Her proclivity for conservative activism has been diversified across many venues: she became a well-known military blogger and conservative essayist in 2005.  She co-founded the website and was a founding cadre member of the national veterans’ group, the Gathering of Eagles in 2007.  In 2008, she was a grassroots director for Duncan Hunter’s presidential campaign.  More recently, she co-founded in 2009 and served as the Senior Editor, Publisher, and Webmaster of the website.

In 2010, she worked full time for the Pantano For Congress campaign as a policy advisor and the E-Campaign Director.  She also served as a Republican precinct chair and State Convention delegate and still presently serves on the executive board of the Clear Lake Tea Party.  During this year’s 82nd legislative session, Heidi trained and led groups of citizens to Austin every week to monitor the bills and lobby representatives for Conservative cause.  Currently, she owns a small firearms business, specializing in gun sales to women for self and home defense.

Heidi has been married to Andrew Thiess, also a former Army officer, for 18 years, and they have two children:  Jonathan, 17, and Eden, 13.  The Thiess family lives in League City, Texas.

Another way to help Heidi (and other Texan Grizzlies) is to contact our AGU-TX State Coordinator Cynthia Dixon:

Contact Cynthia and let her know what type of special skills you have to donate for the Texas races.

In 2012 we must fight for a complete restoration of America on every level of government. The LSM distracts our focus with large national races and neglects the smaller local ones; even though they are just as important. Local candidates like Heidi need your help too.

American Grizzlies United is working to help these down ticket candidates.

Take a look at our AGU: 2012 Primary Candidate List and see which candidates you are moved to help in their races.

Our work continues…
