California can be frustrating for reform minded, common sense, Constitutional conservatives.
Although California is considered a Blue State, it is still REAGAN Country. California’s densely populated cities are mainly liberal, yet it’s counties (especially those in inland California) are mainly conservative.
You can look at recent electoral maps of California and see all the red (and blue) counties. The true divide between California isn’t North and South but rather Coastal and Inland.
Regardless of these red and blue labels, the truth is that California is in trouble. And it will take a united, engaged citizenry to save the state.
Corruption and Crony Capitalism are non-partisan; they are common ground that all Americans want and deserve.
“It’s not the capitalism of free men and free markets of innovation and hard work and ethics, of sacrifice and risk. No this is the capitalism of connections and government bailouts and handouts… and influence peddling and corporate welfare“
- Sarah Palin
For examples of conservatives and liberals building coalitions based on common ground in Los Angeles to effect positive change and stop corruption and crony capitalism: See
HERE and
HERE.
The building blocks needed for a coalition to fight corruption and crony capitalism are literally at our fingertips.
The Los Angeles based website
City Watch (
@CityWatchLA) has been very effective in exposing the crooked exploitation of California taxpayer dollars.
Conservatives will not agree with all of the views presented on
City Watch. But by
temporarily setting aside the issues we disagree on, and focusing on fighting crony capitalism; the corrupt CRA-LA is now dead.
No one expects us to agree on everything. But we are expected to govern with integrity, good will, clear convictions, and … a servant’s heart.
- Sarah Palin
This same grassroots coalition of reformer conservatives and liberal activists from
City Watch will certainly join forces again when the common ground of corruption and crony capitalism come into play.
Only by getting involved in our local political structures can bring us the opportunity to form coalitions for 2012 and beyond.
Fighting corruption and crony capitalism brought to us by the permanent political class will be a long and hard battle.
Finding the right individuals to build coalitions in your community can be a challenge. But not impossible.
Many communities have neighborhood councils that work beneath the City Council. This is a great place to start. So are local city blogs.
It’s up to us to restore our country on every level of government. It’s up to us to be fearless role models in our communities.
The GOPe and the LSM lecture us daily that we must pander and capitulate to the mysterious Independents and the Moderates.
As usual, they’ve got it all wrong.
It’s up to us to convince all Americans that defending Liberty is in their best interest.
If coalitions can be formed in deep Blue California to fight the permanent political class, they can be formed anywhere in our country.
It’s up to us.
Our work continues…
